The care home, which has 150 residents and approximately 160 care staff in total, was initially cautious about changing software providers. Nadeem Ahmed, IT Manager at James Milson Village, explains:
“As an IT professional, I’m usually quite sceptical when it comes to testing new software, so I asked a lot of questions about Person Centred Software, particularly around security and how it could benefit our organisation. I was immediately impressed by how they presented the software to us, their customer service promises and the potential timesaving benefits to our care staff.”
Swapping to Mobile Care Monitoring
Following the ‘easy integration’ of Person Centred Software’s Mobile Care Monitoring system, it didn’t take long for the benefits to be felt.
“Our previous clinical management system was difficult to navigate with information hard to find, which came down to a lack of training and also the complexity of the software. However, Person Centred Software’s programming is straightforward and easy to use. Service and support provided by Person Centred Software has been exceptional too. Any problems are resolved quickly, and the training of employees has been brilliant.
Person Centred Software worked with us to implement any changes we want to make to the system. One year on, they still work with us in this way and nothing is ever too much trouble for them, they’re always available to help.”
Giving carers more time to care
“In our industry, having good and reliable clinical management software is essential, because at the end of the day, we are here to serve our residents.
Person Centred Software’s Mobile Care Monitoring software saves our carers approximately 60 minutes per day where they were previously sat behind a computer. The timesaving here allows staff to spend more time with the residents, which makes a huge difference. Every minute you spend with a resident makes a huge difference to them and their lives.”
As well as improving efficiency, Nadeem has credited the software for increasing staff confidence, overcoming language barriers amongst their workforce and reducing errors made when logging care notes.
Sharing information with families
One aspect of the software, which has been particularly helpful to the facility has been the Relatives Gateway, with Nadeem describing it as “one of the best initiatives (they) have implemented”.
Nadeem explains: “The main benefit of the Relatives Gateway platform is that it has opened the facility up to family members, who can see what is happening in the homes and what we are doing, down to when their relative last had a cup of tea.
This level of transparency helps with building trust and confidence in the facility, as family members can see in real-time how their loved ones are being cared for.”
“The platforms video capabilities to facilitate communication, and the photo galleries, mean family members can also see their loved ones having fun, taking part in activities, and doing their exercises.
This makes a huge difference, offering them peace of mind and helps with changing the perception of what is going on in the homes,” Nadeem continues.
This has proven especially valuable in recent months, with coronavirus restricting in-home visits.
Switching to Mobile Care Monitoring is worth it
One year on, Nadeem highly recommends Person Centred Software to other care providers, whether still using paper or alternative digital systems.
“Swapping to Person Centred Software’s Mobile Care Monitoring system was one of the best decisions we have made as an organisation. Not only does it make a huge difference to the lives of our residents, but it also improves the efficiency of staff.
From an IT perspective, it is an incredibly innovative product that is constantly adapting to meet industry needs. As well as being secure with great support available and offering great value for money, it ticks all of the boxes.
We recommend the software to everybody.”
